Tarzan Circus - Jakarta

Yesterday when I went to Lotte Mart in Kelapa Gading Area, I saw this circus attraction. Appearently it was held in Lotte Mart parking area. It is a local circus show that involves exotic animals like elephant, camel, tiger and so on. It was not a big attraction but it is a rare occasion that Jakarta people rarely see in this city. Usualy if we want to see this kind of attraction we have to go to the zoo outside jakarta. It was held in a big tent and there you can pay to ride an elephant or camel or a pony. It was held from 4 May until 27 May 2012. I didn't go in so I did not take the picture inside the tent.

Wine and Cheese Expo - Jakarta 2012

Yesterday I went to Wine and Cheese Expo at La Piazza, Kelapa Gading Mall. They have many selection of wine and also discounted wine. They held this event for promoting wine. Many people can taste wine there and the event was crowded on the weekend.

Happy Birthday (To Me) - Jakarta

Today is my birthday. At my age, we don't have that much party anymore. Today I just had many food delivered to my home from my families and friends. When I got home from work, the table is full of food fiesta and the one I liked most is Lasagna from Chyntia. =)

Cheap Meal - Jakarta

There are places in Jakarta where you can get a decent meal for one and a half US Dollar. They are tasty and also healthier than street food. I used to get my lunch at this kind of place daily when I work at business district area like Sudirman and Kuningan. There are a lot of place like this of you paying attention but not all is tasty like this one. The food place is called Kantin or Canteen, a place that provide food for worker or student. It is mostly self service, you get how much that you want and at the end of the line, they will calculate how much the price according to your food at your plate.

Contemporary Art at Gandaria City - Jakarta

Yesterday I found some contemporary art display at Gandaria City Mall. It was located on the Main Street Dining Area, the place where there is a lot of restaurant. I'm not really into art but some of the painting are really unique. So I decided to post it on my blog.

Gandaria City Mall is one of the newest mall in Jakarta. It is located in south jakarta. I want to say that I am impressed with Gandaria City because the place is comfy, there are many stores so you will not get bored and the restaurants, cafes offers many wide and unique variety of food and drink. It is a good place to hang out and spend time with friends. I recommend this place to you.

Living World Mall - Serpong

Today I went to Living World Mall in Serpong. Serpong is a suburb of Jakarta. I went here for some new places to see since today is a holiday so the traffic would not killing me. The mall is not as big as Jakarta malls but it is one of the best mall in Serpong and Tangerang area. The place is like entertainment centre that offers many restaurant, cafe and two floors of home living improvement centre. They also claimed that they have the biggest ACE Hardware store in Indonesia. It is true, I never seen ACE Hardware that big. Anyway, this place is recommended for people want to try visit Serpong area to eat or just chill out.

They also have a garden inside the mall, located on the third floor. In here people can see the sky view of  the surrounding area of the mall. Nice place at sunset or night.

Matryoshka Russian Doll - Jakarta

Today I went to Gandaria City Mall and look what I found. Matryoshka Shop that sells russian doll made of wood, and they have a smaller duplicate inside of each other. The wooden doll are imported directly from Russia. It is an artistic beautiful wooden doll in my opinion. They just opened six month ago in Gandaria City Mall and they claim to be the first and only shop that sells genuine russian wooden doll.

Durian Restaurant - Jakarta

This afternoon I was eating durian at one of the place that only serve durian fruit. It has many types of durian fruit depending on the season. The place has a simple design with two stone durian statue at the doorway. In the inside you can find a lot of durian fruits which you can choose and give it to the waiter for him to open the fruit for you so you can eat it on the spot. They also have like durian juice, durian ice cream and durian chips. The price there is so so, not expensive, also not that cheap. Actually you can find a cheaper one on the street vendor that sells durian fruit but usually they don't have tables for you to eat on the spot. So overall it is ok to eat here.

Fire Incident Pluit - Jakarta

Yesterday I was caught at the toll road, it was a bad bad traffic that day. From far away I saw a large black smoke arise from the sky and the wind blowing them off to one direction creating a big long smoke trail. Then when I turn on the radio, there was a fire incident in one of the Pluit warehouses area. It was a big one and I can happen to take some pictures of it. The warehouse that was caught burning is oil warehouse and paper warehouse. It took me two hours at the toll road whereas it took me 30 minutes on normal traffic.

UPDATE! 24 March 2012

After a big fire incident struck oil storage warehouses at Pluit two days ago, the fire has started again at the same spot. It happened because the oil spilled is hard to clean so a bit spark of fire can lit it up again. This is also shows that the fire incident management is not yet better.

Various Food in Pluit Area - Jakarta

Today I just went to Pluit Sakti Area to look for some dinner. So I decided to take pictures of various food vendors that offers wide variety of Indonesian food there. There's a lot of food vendor here and not to expensive also. A lot of food here are usually chinese food and also a bit spicy. I recommend people to come here if they want to have authentic chinese food in Jakarta.
